Pre-treatment & post-treatment advice- Dermal filler

1. Make a note of your appointment date and time.
2. Avoid medication such as NSAIDs (Ibuprofen), Aspirin 3 days before treatment unless prescribed by your doctor, and avoid harsh skincare 3 days before treatment.
3. Arnica can be taken orally for a few days pre-treatment to lessen the risk of bruising.
4. Certain food/ drink/ supplements such as alcohol, fish oil, vitamin E, Ginko Bilboa, and St. John's Wort should be avoided.
5. Avoid tanning salons 7 days before treatment
6. Do drink plenty of water
7. If you are unwell on the day, contact Dr Alya to reschedule.
8. Read the Clinic Policy.

2. Please attend by yourself, as privacy and safety are essential aspects of our policy.

1. Normal activities can be restarted straight after treatment; however, some precautions are advised.
2. Avoid touching the treated area for at least 12 hours to minimise lump formation and reduce the risk of infection.
3. Avoid makeup application for 12 hours to reduce the risk of infection.
4. Avoid vigorous exercise, extreme cold and hot temperatures, saunas, swimming pool and sunbeds for 2 weeks until swelling has resolved.
5. If swelling persists after 3 days, consider applying a cooling pad. If swelling persists despite best efforts, contact Dr Alya as soon as possible for further advice.
6. Avoid very hot or cold food until the lips have regained their normal sensation.
7. Avoid any skin treatment (Chemical peel, facials, etc.) for at least 7 days.
8. Avoid alcohol consumption for at least 24hrs post-treatment
9. If pain persists, paracetamol one to two tablets every 6 hours can be taken for 2 days.

3. Avoid touching the treated area for at least 12 hours to minimise the risk of infection.
4. Avoid makeup application for 12 hours to reduce the risk of infection. Use a clean sponge/ brush until day 5.
5. Consider applying a cooling pad for a maximum of 20 minutes. If swelling persists despite best efforts, contact Dr Alya as soon as possible for further advice.
6. Avoid skin treatments (Chemical peel, facials, etc.) for at least 14 days.
7. Avoid extreme temperatures, either hot or cold (Sauna, ice packs, etc) for three days
8. Avoid strenuous exercises for 10 days
9. Avoid laser, cryolipolysis, and radiofrequency treatments for 14 days.
