No. Aqualyx is designed for selected localised fat pockets rather than general weight loss. It is most appropriate for patients who are close to a stable weight but remain concerned about a specific area of fullness.

The fat cells disrupted within the treated area do not regenerate in the same way. However, the remaining fat cells elsewhere in the body can still enlarge if body weight increases, so maintaining a stable lifestyle remains important.

The number of sessions depends on the size of the area, the amount of localised fat and the result being created. Some patients may achieve their desired contour with fewer sessions, while larger or more resistant areas may require a planned course. 

Aqualyx works gradually. The treated area often becomes swollen before it begins to reduce, and the final result develops as the body processes the disrupted fat cells over time.

Yes. Swelling is expected and may be noticeable, particularly during the first few days. Tenderness, firmness, bruising or temporary numbness may also occur while the area settles.

Aqualyx primarily treats localised fat. It does not provide the same result as a dedicated skin-tightening treatment or surgery. If skin laxity is a significant part of your concern, this will be assessed during consultation.

More than one area may be considered, but treatment planning depends on the size of each area, the overall course and what is appropriate within one appointment. Your plan and pricing will be explained before treatment.

Common temporary effects include swelling, bruising, tenderness, firmness and numbness. Less common risks depend on the treatment area and individual factors and will be discussed clearly during consultation and consent.
